Teen Patti: The Betting process

Each player in the game contributes the boot money and is allotted 3 cards face down. Next, comes the turn of a player sitting next to the dealer in a clockwise direction. The Player has two options; he can either place a bet without seeing the cards (blind) or see the cards (Chaal). If the user sees his cards, he/she can play a chaal or may have other options depending upon the progress of the game. A player who places a bet without seeing the cards is referred to as the blind user. A player who places a bet after seeing the cards is referred to as the “seen” player.

Blind Player: Blind players may choose to look at their cards when their turn comes to bet. The player then becomes a seen player.

Seen player: A seen player can play a chaal or he can pack. There are two other options available to the “seen” player- Show & Side Show. Once the player decides to see his/her cards, to remain in the game, it is necessary that they must play a chaal unless they select any other available option.

Chaal: To remain in the game, it is necessary that a “seen” player must play a chaal or side show if applicable. If he/she is making a chaal then he/she must place a bet amount in the pot.

Side Show: A “seen” player can also ask for a side show. Side Show means that you wish to compare your cards with the cards of the player before you. You can only do this if the user before you is also a “seen” player and there are more than 2 players in the game (obviously). The player whose cards you wish to see has the option to decline your Side Show request.

If the previous player is willing to show his cards to you and has better cards than you, you better pack and vice-versa. If the side show request is denied and you do not see each other’s cards, then both of you will remain in the game and the turn passes on to the next player.
